SYNOPSIS: This bill would provide that Alabama would
observe Daylight Saving Time year-round upon an act
by Congress to amend the existing prohibition in
federal law.

TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Daylight Saving Time; to provide that
Alabama would observe Daylight Saving Time year-round upon an
act by Congress to amend the existing prohibition in federal
law.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. If the United States Congress amends 15
U.S.C. § 260a to authorize states to observe Daylight Saving Time year-round, the State of Alabama shall adopt Daylight Saving Time as the year-round standard of time for the entire state and all of its political subdivisions.
1 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the 2 first day of the third month following its passage and 3 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
