"Cabinet cancels Daylight Saving Time "
The cabinet on Monday permanently cancelled the Daylight Saving Time system considering sufferings and difficulties of different sections of professionals and people.
A meeting of the cabinet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair took the decision in the morning.
Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters after the meeting the cabinet also decided to sign the Rome Statue of the International Criminal Court.
Earlier, a cabinet meeting decided to reintroduce the daylight saving time in the country on March 31 by moving the clocks one hour forward to meet the growing demand for electricity.
