The Chamber of Deputies has approved the bill that establishes daylight saving time (UTC-3) permanently throughout the country, eliminating the change to winter time. Now, the final decision is in the hands of President Santiago Peña, who has the power to enact or veto this regulation.
The approved project establishes that the UTC-3 time zone will be the official one throughout the national territory. This means that, if the law is approved, the change to winter time, which is currently in force, will be eliminated after Sunday, October 6, the date on which clocks are usually set back one hour. In this way, Paraguay would maintain a single time zone throughout the year.
El proyecto de ley que establece el horario de verano permanente fue sancionado por el Congreso y ahora espera la decisión del presidente Peña.
La Cámara de Diputados ha sancionado el proyecto de ley que establece el horario de verano (UTC-3) de manera permanente en todo el país, eliminando el cambio al horario de invierno. Ahora, la decisión final está en manos del presidente Santiago Peña, quien tiene la facultad de promulgar o vetar esta normativa.
El proyecto aprobado establece que el huso horario UTC-3 será el oficial en todo el territorio nacional. Esto significa que, de aprobarse la ley, el cambio al horario de invierno, que rige actualmente, será eliminado después del domingo 6 de octubre, fecha en la que habitualmente se retrasan los relojes una hora. De este modo, Paraguay mantendría un horario único durante todo el año.
